About Serena Weatherhead
She/Her

Hi, I’m Serena Weatherhead (she/her), an intern counsellor currently completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology. You may have found yourself here if you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, grief, perfectionism, or challenges related to identity or women’s health. Whatever brings you to therapy, I’m here to meet you where you are and support you in discovering your most authentic answers to life’s obstacles.

As a clinician with lived experience as a person of colour and second-generation immigrant, I’m passionate about creating an inclusive space for individuals from the IBPOC population, minority groups, and diverse cultural backgrounds. My work emphasizes culturally-responsive and socially-just therapy that honours the complexity of your identity. I support individuals exploring their cultural heritage, those navigating intersections of identity, and anyone experiencing compassion fatigue or burnout.

MY APPROACH

Starting therapy can feel both exciting and intimidating—I’m here to make the process as comfortable and empowering as possible. My approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and trauma-informed care. I create a safe, judgment-free space where you can express yourself freely and explore your goals at your own pace. Together, we’ll identify the thoughts, behaviours, and boundaries that align with the life you envision.

I use evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to challenge unhelpful thought patterns, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to clarify your values and develop actionable goals, and somatic therapy to help you reconnect with your body and process emotions in a grounded space. These methods are integrated to create a personalized therapeutic experience that addresses your unique needs holistically.

Whether you’re seeking to develop coping skills, process difficult emotions, or navigate a new chapter in your life, I’m here to help. If you’re curious about how we might work together, I invite you to reach out for a free consultation call. I’m excited to walk alongside you on your journey toward growth and healing.
